El Rio Golf Course dates back to the 1930s and was the original site for the Tucson Open. The course was
operated as a country club until 1968 when the City of Tucson acquired it for public use. The course layout features
tight fairways, small greens, relatively flat terrain, two lakes, and numerous trees. El Rio is ideal for the
“short knocker,” measuring 6,000 yards from the regular tees, and 6,400 from the back tees.

In the shadow of Bill Williams Mountain, Elephant Rocks at Williams is the perfect escape from the summer
heat of the Valley. Nestled at 7000 feet above sea level, the course meanders its way through stands of large
Ponderosa pines. There has been a course here since the 1920’s but it was not until 1990, when the course
was reconfigured by Gary Panks, that its reputation grew. In 2000, Gary designed a further nine holes to make
it a true championship challenge.
