Here's an idea, put two inflatable rubber dams across the Salt River and create a lake. Voila! Tempe Town Lake, with its wide multi-use paths, is a smash hit. A great place to rent a boat, walk, run, bike or in-line skate.
After doing a loop around the lake, ride or skate north on the greenbelt to Scottsdale.
Route: Easily accessable off Loop 202 and Scottsdale / Rural Road.
Recreation: Boating, fishing, biking, hiking, in-line skating and people watching.
Dock: Boat rides and rentals.
Season: Year-round.
