Mountain Bike Trails
Ads by 3Star Media
New mountain bike trails are in Sedona, Flagstaff and the White
Mountains.
We also feature rides closer to home: the
family-friendly Blevins Trail, and the scenic, but long Granite
Saguaro Loop skirting the Lower Salt River.

MOUNTAIN BIKE TIPS
Repair Kit: Pack the following: chain repair
tool, tire pump, flat repair kit, tube injection fluid, small
crescent wrench, universal tool, mini flashlight, spoke tool,
matches, pocket knife, cell-phone and map. Breakdowns can ruin your
day.
Helmet: Falls happen. Never bike without a helmet and make sure your helmet meets or exceeds
the ANSI Z 90.4 industry standards.
First-Aid Kit: A fanny pack-sized first-aid kit
is smart. At some point, you will need one. Include tweezers and
plastic comb (for cactus spine removal) and a snake-bite
kit.
Water: Take more than you need and include a water
treatment kit for emergencies.
Right of Way: Hikers and horses have the right
of way. Exercise caution when approaching horses---they spook
easily.
Buddy-up: Never bike alone. If you must, make others aware of your itinerary.
Speed: It is difficult to hear oncoming traffic. Watch your speed around curves and on downhill sections of
trails.
Weather: Summer thunderstorms can cause flooding and severe drops in temperature.
Always dress or pack in layers.
