Scenery: Chaparral, riparian habitat along west fork of Sycamore Creek, and fir and pine forests in the northern portion. Check weather forecasts, northern portion does get snow, and Sycamore Creek runs heavy after storms

Routehead: North of Sunflower on SR 87. Near the top of the pass, exit left at the turn for Sycamore Creek. 2az.us! See Map icon

Route A:  (Portions 4WD only): Take FR 201 north to junction of TR 201. Steady climb, 4,344 ft. to 5,900 ft. Bare left at 201A (descending, rocky, rough) to the junction of primitive FR 3722 (unsigned) and FR 1678. Here you have options.
Take FR 201A east (left) to FR 201 and return to the junctions of 201 & 25.

Route B:) Turn west (right) onto primitive FR 3722 (unsigned) to the junction with 25A. Follow 25A south (left) to the junction of FR 25, continue south on 25 and return to junction with 201.

Length: Option A: 12 miles
Length: Option B: 13 miles
Length: Bottom loop: (roundtrip 87) 10 miles
Length: Figure eight: 16 miles
Rating: Most Difficult - Parts Extreme
Elevation 4,344 ft. to 5,900 ft.
Season: Spring through early winter.
