SALT AND GILA RIVERS
The season for running the exhilarating Upper Salt and Gila River is
from March through May (dependent on snowmelt). The Upper Salt
features class III and IV rapids, like Pinball, Black Rock,
Corkscrew and the infamous Quartzite Falls, and runs through the
wilds of the Salt River Wilderness.
The Gila Box Riparian Area, wilderness managed by BLM, features
class II and III rapids and magnificent riparian habitat. The Lower
Gila, also on BLM land, is a leisurely class I float great for
families. Floating the Lower Gila is good clean summer
fun.
COLORADO RIVER
Without a doubt the Grand Canyon contains some of the most exciting white water in the world.
And what better way to experience heart-pounding rapids, wildlife,
lost side-canyon hikes and the sheer splendor of this wonder of the
world.
